PNOC EC recognized for helping save lives through blood donation
NKTI, Quezon CIty, 30 July 2024 — PNOC Exploration Corporation (PNOC EC) received recognition from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) for its regular conduct of blood donation activities to support the Institute in saving the lives of their patients, especially the indigents.
Angelo G. Allarde (PNOC EC Chief of Staff) represented the company and received the award at NKTI’s 18th Kabalikat Awards held at Dr. Enrique T. Ona Auditorium. Together with him were Herbert E. Funelas (PNOC EC Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager), and Joseph Andrew S. Manalansang (PNOC EC Nurse), who are part of the team responsible for spearheading blood donation initiatives.
This recognition signifies PNOC EC’s commitment to the nation and its countrymen through efforts beyond energy exploration and production.
NKTI highlighted “Makabagong Bayani, Dugo Mo’y Ibahagi,” as its theme for this year’s recognition event. This highlights the impact of blood donation to the lives of kidney patients, especially amid the struggles and demand for blood donors in the country.
PNOC EC’s Bloodletting Program opens opportunities to its employees to voluntarily donate blood, in partnership with agencies such as the Philippine Red Cross and NKTI.
In April 2024, the company achieved a milestone of recording the highest number of donors compared to the previous blood donation activities, with over 40 donor-employees.
To strengthen this initiative, the company, through the headship of PNOC EC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Franz “Chicoy” E. Alvarez, aims to conduct another bloodletting activity before the year ends.
Beyond awards or recognition, PNOC EC, under President Alvarez, will continue to strive towards its goals and endeavors for the interest of the nation.
