PNOC EC @ 50: Living and Giving, Blood Donation for NKTI

05 March 2026, Bonifacio Global City – PNOC Exploration Corporation, the oil, gas, and coal exploration and development arm of the National Government, as part of its 50th anniversary celebration this April, held a blood donation drive for the National Kidney and Transplant Institute at the Pagasa Hall.

This is the fifth time PNOC EC has taken part in the regular blood donation drive of the NKTI, the government hospital widely recognized as the specialist for all manner of kidney treatments, therapy, and transplant operations in the country.

NKTI requires a consistent and high volume of blood and has regular blood donation drives for all types all throughout the country. The blood is needed to support the many operations it performs, particularly for emergency dialysis and life-saving transplants.

Blood donation at NKTI is often requested as a replacement for blood components used by patients, such as for platelet transfusions. Type O blood is in particularly high demand as it is the most common type.

Of the 61 PNOC EC employees screened, 37 passed and were allowed to donate. The donors include personnel from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the PNOC Parent Company.

This bloodletting activity underscored PNOC EC’s commitment to serving the public beyond its corporate mandate. Through its partnership with NKTI and the generosity of its employee-volunteers, PNOC EC not only marked five (5) decades of service but also reaffirmed its dedication to compassion, solidarity, and community support.
