The Geological Society of the Philippines (GSP) will be holding its annual Geological Convention (GEOCON 2007) from December 5 to 7, 2006 at the Bahia Room of the Intercontinental Hotel Makati City. This year’s theme is entitled, “Capitalizing on Geology: Fostering Socio Economic Progress.”

Great strides have been made in the growth of the metals and petroleum industries and we see the enthusiastic entry of investors for these commodities in the Philippines. To further encourage this bullish trend, the Society has invited the most knowledgeable in various fields to present their studies in Exploration, Project Development, Health, Safety & Environment as well as Policy Directions and Project Financing.

The geological profession is a key element in the country’s progress and it has always provided alliance to the Government’s efforts for the country’s sustainable development. Through these endeavors, the Society has played a major role will always be a partner in nation building.

PNOC EC’s Exploration Manager, Mr. Raymundo B. Savella, is the incumbent President of the GSP.
