SC 37 - San Antonio Gas Power Plant
San Antonio well head PNOC EC is the Philippines’ first commercial producer of natural gas with its modest discovery of the San Antonio 1A well in the Cagayan Basin in Luzon Island. The natural gas from the field provides fuel to the 3-MW San Antonio Gas Power Plant in the province of Isabela.

The facility provides electricity to more than 10,000 households and enabled the accumulation of valuable data and experience in small-scale gas power generation which can be replicated in other parts of the Philippines.

From the same gas field, PNOC EC also provides fuel to the Philippines’ first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Refuelling Station and vehicles. It is PNOC EC’s vision to commercialize the use of natural gas-fueled vehicles in the country through the intensified search for natural gas reserves that can compete with the cost of diesel.

The Cagayan Basin alone contains an estimated potential natural gas reserves of 320 billion cubic feet.
